03 Bargello

The Bargello was constructed in 1255 and served as a public government building, a prison, and now a museum, which I find very interesting. I visited the Bargello and found the architecture and design very fascinating. Even though it served as prison, none of it spared detail. For a building over 750 years old, it has remained very intact. The museum houses various famous antiques such as sculptures, coins, religious artifacts, ivory, tapestries, textiles, ceramics, and weapons and armor. I really enjoyed seeing all of the artifacts that have been preserved over hundreds of years. What captivated me the most was the different types of weapons they had on display. There were models of cannon and mortar, flintlock rifles, crossbows, armor, knives, pole arms, falchions, rapiers, maces, and axes. I was very excited to be able to view these as I am very intrigued by renaissance military history.
