When I went to the academic gallery, I was able to appreciate the expertise artisanship and craftsmanship required to create the works of art that are on display. Although art is not my favorite subject, I understand that it took an immense amount of the combination of skill, patience, and practice. Observing the “David” by Michelangelo and realizing that it was manually sculpted from one slab of marble over 500 years ago without modern tools or techniques is truly a feat of artistic accomplishment. Despite my mild negligence towards the arts, I feel content knowing that others can pour their soul into their art and have profound impacts on the lives of many.
